| I started this painting in 1973, got as far as the drawing and first underpainting of thinned color. Then it sat idle for 10 years as I married, had my son and moved many, many times. Finally, one year I decided to finish it. The face is a little over-worked because I had lost the original photograph (from a National Geographic) but the mandolin turned out great! I used my own guitar as a model for the colors and details. |
